Congratulations to the Hugh Sutherland Mixed Curling team, who are South Central Zone Champions.  Skip: Ryan Hennessey; Third: Jade Kirk; Second: Daniel Hennessey; Lead: Raven Mcdonald. 

The team was undefeated at the South Central Zone Championships held February 16-17 at Didsbury Curling Club, Defeating Cochrane High School for the gold medal.  The team will now travel to Vermillion to participate in the High School Provincial Championships March 1-3, 2012.

We would also like to thank the Scotties Tournament of Hearts School Program who provided our curling teams tickets to attend Draw #10 at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Red Deer on Tuesday, February 21st.

Feb 29 - Anti-Bullying Day

On February 29, 2012 we encourage all staff and students  to wear something pink to symbolize that we as a society will not tolerate bullying anywhere.All students will be involved in an assembly as well as other activities in support of anti-bullying. (read more)

Feb 22 - Middle School Activity Day

On Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012, all Middle School students will be participating in an Activity Day. This day will act as an extension of the Physical Education curriculum for grades 5 to 8 allowing students to participate in a variety of land or water-based activities in alternate environments. Feb 22 - Science Fair

  The 2012 science fair took place on February 8 at Carstairs Elementary School. Thirteen students represented Hugh Sutherland School with a total of seven projects. Feb 13 - Buy a Crush for your crush!

Last week the grade 7-8 leadership class had our "Buy a Crush for your crush" sale to raise money for the Rick Hansen Foundation. They were $2 for 1 and $3 for 2. During the 3 days we sold pop, we made a total of 140 dollars. Happy Valentine's Day! (read more)
